CFA settlement averts massive statewide strike

After many months of negotiations, rallies, mediation, fact finding and an official strike vote set for April 13, California Faculty Association (CFA) and California State University administration have reached a tentative agreement, averting a statewide strike within the 26,000 member union.

California State University System’s mission since its inception has been to provide high-quality affordable college to all Californians. CFA leaders claimed their ability to attract and retain outstanding applicants with comparatively stagnant wages was increasingly difficult and would have long-term implications.
