WASHINGTON — New York Times reports the DeVos-led Education Department is considering a plan to allow states to access federal funding set aside for academic enrichment and student services to purchase guns for educators, according to multiple sources. The plan would access one billion in federal funds formerly used as academic enrichment grants and because no rule prevents it, states would be allowed to purchase weapons without Congressional approval.
